The LECO Renaissance inductively coupled plasma time-of-flight mass spectrometer (ICP/TOFMS) interfaced to the CETAC LSX-200 Nd:YAG Laser Ablation system is housed in the Department of Chemistry. The TOF system has the capability to measure transient signals and can simultaneously monitor up to 90 isotopes. The usefulness of this instrument has been proven for application in low volume solution samples and single-shot laser ablation exploration research analyses that were unattainable by conventional ICP-MS technology.
