Applied Geophysics

This specialization includes a strong core of mathematics and electrical engineering in addition to geological and physical sciences enabling our students to specialize in the application of physics to problems in all areas of Geological Engineering. This includes understanding the physical behaviour of the planet, the use of geophysical instrumentation in investigations of the sub-surface, as well as geophysical techniques related to the search for mineral resources and to civil engineering and environmental site investigation. The Oil and Gas industry makes very wide use of Applied Geophysics (seismology in particular).
